Since a new version (1.7) has come out, I will provide some new feedback.

1. I tried to rebind the controls to WASD, I had my controller plugged in at the time and it seems to have softlocked the game. Not sure if I can replicate it.

2. The datapad is very hard to read. The font size as well as the colours is the main issue. Its better to use contrasting colours.

3. Why can't you exit the dragon bar the same way you came? Strange.

4. Minor gripe, but the kid in the alley is as tall as Merc... You could probably use the default MV sized actor sprites.

5. A sign by the tree has no words. Maybe this isn't important, but the sign could have interesting trivia about the tree. Just a suggestion.

More to come...

Edit:

6. Spelling error when you go in the apartment bedroom. *Doesn't .

7. Grammar error - when talking to Colt, Mercury asks a question but you forgot to add (?)

8. Noodle bar looks unattended, yet they are offering you food...

9. you can walk on the walls when you go downstairs at the bar.

10. Was not a fan of the underground sequence... Too much trial and error... Not like there is a serious consequence for getting caught. Just an annoying and pointless section in general.

11. interesting 'boat' sprite... looks more like a spaceship.

12. No exit button in main menu?

Just finished part 1. I like where the story is going. Very intriguing plot threads throughout. didn't expect the hobo to come in at the last second! It says part 2 is available. can't wait to see what happens next!

Hello again, Thanks for playing through the new build and providing more feedback, I will get to work on the above for the next patch.

On a few of the points,

1 - The Plugin for the Keyboard config doesn't seem to like it when using a controller and causes the issue when you try to add controller buttons to the configuration options, I will see if I can reach out to the author of it.

2. I agree and working through them redoing the font.

10. I tried to add more clutter/garbage as you start to approach one of the robots to try and signal it but probably not clear enough. Without spoiling too much, If you go through the side quest in the game with the chests, you get something that helps navigate the underground section....

All the other points noted and will look into them.

Really glad you enjoyed the story. Yes Part 2 is out now, link is now on this game's page.

Thanks again!

I found a bug after trying new clothes I think

Failed to load

Edit: More bugs...

1, I can walk on the walls in the hotel room. Seems like the wall painting's collision is not set up correctly.

Design issues;

The resolution is great, it fits the entirety of the screen, however everything is quite small especially on the map.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into the issues. Thanks for playing also.

Hello, just released an update which fixes the failed to load issue along with some other additions, thanks again for bringing it to my attention.

Nice art, music, atmosphere.

Hello,

As you already know, I streamed your game last weekend. Overall, it's an inoffensive game, but I wish it attempted to achieve more.

There has been a noticeable improvement when compared to the old version of this game, Project Alldevaih. It's clear you have grown a lot as a game developer since then, and so that should never go understated: you're definitely on the right path!

However, the biggest flaw I have with this game is the fact that it is a game. As far as game play elements go, it really seems to be lacking as there are no interesting choices to be made any where. It simply is to walk from point A to point B and let the mystery solve itself with little work from the player.

I hope in whatever your future game is, I hope you will begin to implement some gameplay ideas, even if in a small part, such as branching and meaningful dialogue choices and/or (if you wish to continue to stick with the mystery/crime genre) clues & evidence hunts.

If you'd like to watch my experience with your game, I've linked the archive below. You can click the timestamps to jump to when I start playing your game.

Hello, Thanks again for playing and glad you found it a step up from the last one.

There are various sections i.e.. getting into the bar, speaking to the foreman on the pier etc where there are multiple ways the player can progress, depending on which choice you make it does impact dialogue and some sections of the story. Similarly, the side content alters the final underground section which you didn't get to. Interacting with certain characters or reading the data pads also opens up new dialogue and fleshes out/provides context to the story. It is first and foremost a narrative game as advertised so most of the mechanics are evolved around that.

From your point of view in can see how it seems completely linear so that is something that I need to convey better, that there is some agency on how the player can go through the story.

All good feedback so thanks again.

Hello! I would like to get in touch with you because it would be great to translate the game into Spanish LATAM. You know, I'm an English into LAS translator looking for video games like yours to translate for free.

Localizing your game into Spanish, will boost your visibility in the Spanish market.

I know it sounds crazy, but as I mention below, it would be a free localization. The only thing I ask in return is my name in the credits and the possibility to mention the game in my portfolio.

What do you think? I'll be playing the demo and waiting for your reply.

Best.

Hello, Thanks for your Message and the offer! It might be something I'm interested in. Have you translated any other games in the past?

(+1)

Hi! Sure. I translate a game named Family Man, did the LQA (Language Quality Assurance) to Paladins: Champions of the Realm, and translate some open source games as practice.

Cool, let me know where is best to contact you to discuss the details.

Cool! You can email me hi@pedromontano.com or my discord @PedroMontaño#8487

Thanks! I've sent you discord friend request.

I played it this week and I found it really good. The atmosphere is nice, the story is captivating. Sure, there are some downsides: pathfinding does not always work, I found one bug when I could walk inside the walls (unless it's a Stranger Things reference) and in the beginning I really did not know how to find the bar. But I think it is really promising and I would be interested in playing next chapters.

Hello! Thanks for playing and really glad you enjoyed it. Thanks also for the feedback, will have a look at those things you mentioned. Part 2 will be coming out soon!
